February Member Meeting - Shaggy Loops Earrings

This is not a throwback to the 70’s and shag carpet but a chance to learn chain maille.  Our very own Sharon Parsons will be teaching this fun and versatile 2 in 1 chain.  The kits she is providing are 18g, 5/32” rings and will also include ear wires.  The green earrings (pictured on the left) are the size and example of the variegated kit.  She will have both variegated color and solid bright aluminum colors (first come first choice).  Any size rings can be used (16 – 22 g). Larger (both gauge and size) are easier to get beads onto.  

You will need to bring 2 pairs of pliers and printed instructions (if they need them). Flat pliers are strongly recommended, but bent nose will work too.  Chain nose pliers work, but tend to warp rings.  

Depending on the ring size used, this design can be made into bracelets and necklaces as well. If you want to add beads, you will need to bring those. Size E beads and O rings work best. Some drops will work but the holes need to be large.

This class is also being offered for free to members, however, registration is required so Sharon knows how many kits/supplies to provide.  Registration will close on February 10, 2026.
