Our Mission

The mission of the Main Line Bead Society (MLBS) is to promote, inspire and nurture creative expression, interest and active participation in all aspects of beading. To accomplish our mission, we bring together a diverse group of people to exchange ideas, share techniques and talent and provide education and information through our monthly meetings, programs and specialized workshops and retreats.

History

The Main Line Bead Society (MLBS) was formed in 2006 by a dedicated group of beaders who wanted to build a sense of community among those who have a passion for beads, beading, wire work, polymer clay, PMC, and all things bead/jewelry related. Because the term "beading" truly encompasses a wide array of creative techniques and forms, anyone who has an enthusiasm to unite beads with fiber, polymer, wire work or many other media is, and always has been, encouraged to come join is at our monthly membership meetings and events. Come to be inspired and to inspire others with your creativity in our friendly supportive environment.

Bead Donations

MLBS believes in supporting those less fortunate through bead and other donations to various charities and groups. Our members recommend groups where donations, especially bead donations, can be made to support worthy causes or to help children. We currently support :

Rocky Run YMCA  - Beads will be used in projects to support their various programs for the community.

Delaware County Christian School - Liz Steele Coates ,the fine arts teacher at the school, utilizes beads and beading supplies with her students.

Additional Charities - In addition, MLBS supports local charities focused on helping children and their families, especially during the holiday season.

The Main Line Bead Society is a 501(c)(7) federally tax exempt organization meeting monthly in Media PA.  You can follow MLBS on Facebook under Main Line Bead Society.
