April 2023 Monthly Meeting - Paper Quilling Project

QUILLING 2 PROJECT

Hello Beaders!

Back by popular demand, Marg Goldwater and Jay Stutman will be teaching a Quilling 2 class. This will be a followup to the Quilling 1 class taught last year and will introduce new techniques to bring you to the next level.

The class will include a short review of basic shapes, how to make a sample board for you to use at home as a reference, and then a few new techniques and shapes in order to make several new pieces on your own. You will also learn how to make domes, balls, and people, as well as how to make a frame/structure to make jewelry.  

The photos illustrate what you will be able to do after you complete this class. As always, completion of any pieces during class is dependent on time remaining after instruction. However, you will have all you need to complete them at home.

The cost for this class is $20.00.

Members need to bring:

• Kit from Quilling 1 class (For those who did not take that class, beginner kits may be purchased on Amazon - JUYA Paper Quilling Kit with 960 Strips and 14 tools (Width of strips 3mm and have glue. Click on or copy/paste the link below for the kit that was used in our Quilling 1 class):

You also need to bring:

• Clear Elmer's glue
• Straight pins
• Comb with small and large teeth (can be plastic, metal, or Afro/pick comb)
• Cork board or styrofoam board with a plastic cover sheet over it, similar to the one used in the last class (10" x 10" is a good size- it needs to be at least 1/4” thick, enough to put straight pins in to form shapes)
