SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR OUR SEPTEMBER 20th MEETING:
The meeting will start at 6:45 sharp. Please arrive ahead of time to check in and get your kit. This meeting is a little different because it will basically be two classes with two different, intricate patterns being taught by two different instructors. Things are further compounded by the intricacies of each pattern. This is why it's important to arrive early since late arrivals will miss out on important teaching information and will have to catch up on their own.
Because two patterns are being taught by two separate people, one for each pattern, members will need to check in, select their kit and then sit at the tables where their pattern is being taught. This will make the teaching process work for everyone, where members will get the benefit of each instructor's directions, tips, and general assistance for the pattern they'll be working on.

Summer may be winding down, but we will be keeping it alive by creating gorgeous bead embroidered bags in either a flower/bee trail or feather design. These stunning bags come in kits from Bead Soup, and our own Geri Goebel and Nicole MacLean have volunteered to teach us how to bead embroider them.
The kit includes a mixture of seed and shaped beads in different sizes to create either a small feather or a flower and bee trail to be attached to a 4"x8" felt bag (included). The piece could also be made into a pendant or brooch, although only the bag embroidery will be taught during class. All bags with coordinating bead colors were specially chosen for us by Bead Soup. Participants should bring a needle, thread, bead mat, scissors, paper to trace the pattern, pencil, gel pen, E6000 glue. and light/magnification if needed.
These kits were purchased by MLBS from Bead Soup for $45.00 each, and MLBS is subsidizing $25.00 per kit, so members pay only $20.00 for their first kit. Geri and Nicole are volunteering to teach, so the bead embroidery class is free. Any leftover kits at the meeting may be purchased for $45.00 each. Kits/color choices are available at the September meeting on a first come/first served basis. There are 9 flower/bee bags and 9 feather bags in various colors to choose from. The flower kits are more complex, with several layers. The feather is more flat. Should anyone want a different color than is available at the meeting, kits may be purchased directly from Bead Soup for the full price of the kit plus shipping.
Guests pay $5 for the September meeting plus the full price of the kit.
The board has reviewed our budget for the rest of 2022 and for 2023. To keep us on sound financial footing, we are going to have cost sharing for some of the remaining meetings in 2022.
