Hello Beaders!
Next month we are doing something a little different: a color class and consultation. Barbara Mayfield, a professional color consultant, will give a talk on making color choices, using pieces that participants bring, and then she will give feedback on any finished or unfinished pieces you have or help you with color choices.
These topics will be covered:
- What color does
- How you make color choices with clients and in your own artwork
- Some colors are best friends and some colors repel each other
- How does one know when the colors are working well together?
- A few moments on the color-wheel
What you should bring: Bring your work! Bring completed work and works-in-progress. Barbara will look at everything as time allows and give feedback on what is strong and/or what might make the color combination stronger and give suggestions on other color options. Also bring beads you don't know what to do with color-wise. Bring questions about color: what are your toughest colors to work with? What color beads do you secretly love but are nervous about using? Are you stuck in a color combination rut? Bring your beads and we will expand the color possibilities.
She wants to hear where you are stumped, what are your color challenges, with what colors are you confident, and which ones you are not. Bring everything you want a fresh-eye opinion on, beads you don't know what to do with, and bring along your beading findings too: wire, clasps, etc. There may even be time to do some beading!
Remember: Throughout the rest of 2022, all active members whose dues are up to date are welcome to participate in all of our member meeting projects for FREE as long as funds allow! MLBS will pay the cost of member meeting program classes through the end of 2022. So instead of costing $25 for members, this class, including all materials, will be FREE! Guests are also welcome to attend by paying $25 for the class, and they will receive the $25 discount on a future color consultation.
