See the early snow-flakes!
Softly they descend,
Like an orchard blossom
Scattered by the wind.
Snow-Flakes

Hello Beaders!
Like it or not, winter is just around the corner. And with the holidays coming up, we thought it would be fun and festive to make a snowflake. Our friend Barbara Tiljen, owner of Owl Be Beading in Bethlehem, has designed just for Main Line Bead Society the gorgeous Louise Snowflake. This pattern is named for her beloved grandmother and has 11 different colorways.
This snowflake is designed to be hung on a tree, but there are other possibilities. You can wear this as a pendant or add a pin-back for a lovely brooch, tack onto a shirt (dry clean only if you do this), or hang in a window. There are also many variations to this snowflake. You can do only the bottom layer or do both layers, add a center stone, insert a chaton in the center on top, tack down the points or leave them loose. So many options!
The class and kit are $25, which includes SuperDuos, Ginkgos, 2 sizes of seed beads, and 3mm crystals, with an option for an 8mm chaton for $1. Barbara will have extra kits available at the meeting (those not snapped up on our website!) for $14 on a first-come first-served basis. After the meeting, the kits will sell for $20 in her shop. Barbara is also bringing a mini trunk show with other kits for stars, jewelry, and ornaments. So bring some extra cash or your checkbook!
Below are the color choices. There are five of each available, except for the Trinket kit, which has four available. Pay for them on Wild Apricot, and your kit will be waiting for you at the meeting. Order your kits before they're gone!
