MLBS HOLIDAY PARTY TIME!!!

.....and the bead society ladies were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of Toho, Swarovski, and Czech beads danced in their heads...

The holidays are upon us, and it's time for the MLBS annual members holiday party! We'll have fun reminiscing about our adventures together over the past year and catching up with old and new bead buddies. Come celebrate our beading friendships!  We'll be sharing fun, food, and frivolity and playing our famous holiday gift swap game!

This year we'll start the party a little earlier (6;30 PM) and end a little later (9;30 PM) to give us time to enjoy food, camaraderie, and a robust game of holiday gift swap. 

Everyone who wants to participate in our annual gift swap game is asked to bring a wrapped gift related to beading or other jewelry-making (new kit, book, tool, organizer, gift card, etc.) worth about $20 for the gift swap.  When you arrive, if you're participating in the game, get your number at the registration table and then place your wrapped gift in the center of the table.  For those who are new to our traditional holiday revelry, the gift swap game rules will be outlined before we play and are also in the Presidents Newsletter for this month. Trust us, it's hilarious!

Before we swap gifts, we'll be enjoying the collective culinary creations of our members.  Like last year, we ask members to bring some finger food, an appetizer, dessert, or beverage to share on our community food table.  At our members request, we'll be feasting on member-supplied delicacies since the consensus was that the catered food couldn't compare to the goodies members make. A food sign-up sheet was passed around at our October and November meetings, but with 22 new members added to our roles in 2019, we still need more members to bring a food donation.  The holiday party is our most heavily attended function of the year, and with 87 members, we want to be sure that there's plenty for everyone.  MLBS will provide all the decorations, paper goods (plates and napkins), cups, and plastic utensils.

If your last name begins with A-L, bring an appetizer, finger food, or dip. If your last name begins with M-Z, bring a dessert item.

So register online for the holiday party now! We need to know how many plan to attend so we set up enough tables and chairs to accommodate everyone and have plenty of food and supplies on hand. We look forward to a fun evening of feasting and friendly, competitive gift swapping!
